Sending domain: SPF, DKIM and DMARC
SPF, DKIM and DMARC are three DNS records that tell inboxes your email really comes from you. Fullturn will not send cold email from a domain until all three are valid.
Add the domain
- Go to Sending, then Domains, and choose Add sending domain.
- Fullturn checks SPF, DMARC, the common DKIM selectors, and the Spamhaus domain blocklist.
- Where a record is missing, the page shows the record to add. Add it where your domain's DNS is managed (your registrar or DNS host), then check again.
What each record does
- SPF lists the servers allowed to send for your domain.
- DKIM signs each email so it cannot be changed on the way. Your mail provider gives you the DKIM record.
- DMARC tells inboxes what to do with mail that fails the other two. Its record starts with v=DMARC1.
Reading the status
- Found means Fullturn saw a valid record. Not proven means it did not, or the check is out of date. DNS changes can take time to spread, so check again later before changing anything.
- Active sending domains are checked weekly. A domain that was valid and now is not shows as an issue.
- The setup step is done when every active sending domain has fresh, valid SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
- A domain on a blocklist stops cold sending from its mailboxes until it is cleared.
