Connect WordPress
Fullturn publishes to WordPress with two things you set up once: an application password, which lets Fullturn create posts, and the Fullturn plugin, which gives each article its reading layout and trust signals.
Before you start
- You need the address of your site and a WordPress login that can publish posts.
- Application passwords need your site to run on https. A security plugin can switch them off; if the Application passwords section is missing in WordPress, check that first.
- Only an owner or admin of your workspace can download the plugin. If you are a member, ask one of them to send you the file.
- How many sites you can connect depends on your plan. If you are at the limit, Fullturn says so and links to Billing.
Connect the site
- On Home, in the Get set up card, choose Connect website (it says Read my website until Fullturn has read your site). It opens the connection page.
- Choose WordPress as the platform.
- In WordPress, open Users, then Profile, and scroll to Application passwords. Type a name such as Fullturn and choose Add New Application Password. WordPress shows the password once, in groups of letters; copy it.
- In Fullturn, enter your website address, your WordPress username and the application password, then choose Check connection. Fullturn checks the login before it saves anything. Choose More to set an author user ID; leave it blank to keep WordPress's default author.
Install the Fullturn plugin
- In Fullturn, choose Download the Fullturn plugin (on the connection page, and in the Fullturn plugin card of Content, Site settings).
- In WordPress, open Plugins, then Add New Plugin, and choose Upload Plugin. Pick the file you downloaded and press Install Now.
- Press Activate Plugin. Then come back to Fullturn and press Check my website. The status changes once Fullturn sees the plugin.
- Later versions arrive on their own through WordPress's updater, and Fullturn checks every update for a signature before WordPress installs it, so this is a one-time step.
If the check does not pass
- Fullturn names the problem: the address did not answer as a WordPress site, the login was refused, or the site could not be reached. Nothing is saved until WordPress answers as WordPress.
- Check the address, the username and the password. Type the application password exactly as WordPress showed it.
- Make sure the site is up and not behind a password or a firewall that blocks outside requests.
- Still stuck? Email support with the address of your site and the message Fullturn shows.
After it connects
Fullturn reads your site and starts writing. Choose how articles go live, and what happens to a claim it cannot confirm, in Add your site: how articles are written, reviewed and published. If something later stops a post from arriving, see When something says blocked or needs attention.
